BACKSTORY

The Pasta Tarot was cooked up after we saw a hunky Italian on the beach and proclaimed "GNOCCHI!" It was then we realized pasta shapes carried meaning for us outside our bellies. Combining that insight with our knowledge of the traditional tarot and our queer Italian-American identity, we've concocted a deck to spread joy, love, and provide insight into life's mysteries—served al dente.

GET TA’ KNOW THE CREATORS

Jeff Petriello, Co-Creator

Jeff has been reading tarot since he was a teen witch in New Jersey two decades ago. His love of cards extends into a passion for game design, which he teaches at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in Brooklyn. He currently works as a games producer for The New York Times . You can find him on @thebeff on Twitter and Instagram, or in your local Italian bakery.

Rob Truglia, Co-Creator

Rob is a pasta oracle, queer organizer, and brand marketer living in Brooklyn, NY. In 2018 he started seeing people as pasta shapes, and life has been evermore delicious since. His pasta aura readings identify you as the pasta shape you embody the most, both in appearance and spirit. By day he’s a marketing consultant and by night he transforms into Issa Mia Mario, a drag queen serving you camp Italian glamour.

Lindsay Mound, Illustrator

Lindsay is an artist, designer, copywriter, musician - you name it, honey! She illustrated this deck having freshly escaped from New York City to find new and old roots in her native New Mexico. Creating the imagery for the Pasta Tarot was an immense challenge that incorporated many of her favorite visual textures, styles and moods.

You can hear her sing in her band Color War anywhere music flows from a stream, you can visit her website to see more of her work, and you can drop her a line or pass her name along the next time you or someone you love is in need of artistic support.
